Questions & Answers about Soy Protein

Question #41: can a person consume too much soy protein in daily diet? what would adverse effects be?
I've been trying to follow the South Beach Diet plan, which strictly reduces the amount of sugar I'm allowing myself. Soy milk and tofu seem to be good choices for meal supplements, but I'm not familiar enough with their general effects on the human system. A package of tofu has "5" servings, but I am normally using half the package as part of my meal -- sometimes twice a day. I've only been doing this for several weeks, so can't say for sure if it's having any negative effects.

Answer: There is a limit for everything why over dose yourself.Consult a Doctor.

Question #46: What are the facts on soy protein?
Ive seen some web sites that are really putting down soy protein supplements saying that it can be really bad for the body, somehow it doesnt proccess it or something, then I got thinking is it a ploy by meat industry? What do you think?

Answer: More than likely, because vegetarians have been eating it for years, even centuries. It's a natural source. Also, many sites for athletes support soy protein over whey protein as supplemental protein due to the manner in which it absorbs in the body, as well as all the other healthy advantages not found in whey.

Question #47: Should men use Soy protein for weight training?
I used to use Soy protein to substitute for whey, but I thought I noticed less "pump" after workouts and also my sexual drive seemed to decrease. I suspect plant estrogens may be to blame, but I'm not a specialist. Can anyone cast any light onto this?

Answer: You are on the money. You are turning into a girl. Soy is not a health food.

Question #48: I heard using soy protein instead of a whey supplement has a side effect of breasts in men, any truth in that?
I use protein supplement when I lift and workout. I, by chance, have always used whey protein. A buddy of ours once bought soy and this was questioned by others we lifted with. Is there any clinical findings or truth to this, and is there a benefit to one over the other?

Answer: You should research soy. A real hustle was worked on the American public by the soybean interests. I'm not conversant in the chemistry of it, but its worth you and your buds looking into.

Question #49: Is soy protein as effective as whey protein for muscle gains?
I've read around the internet and it's been pretty much conclusive by the experts that whey is much more effective, but I've made really nice gains when using soy isolate protein.(The key is the soy ISOLATE instead of regular soy protein, which supposedly increases estogen levels.)Am I right? Cause it's much cheaper and it seems to work.I've never tried whey because I am concerned about the cholesterol it contains (soy has none).I need help people.

Answer: in fact soy contains more protein than most lean meats..not to mention alot less fats (doesnt taste as good, its why i personally prefer meat)ive seen many buff vegetarians.. if you really want to build muscles, eat lean meat and soy; the best of the best!

Question #50: What are the benefits of a soy protein diet or a high protein diet?
Going on a high protein diet or soy protein diet will it help you lose weight. If so what foods should i eat on it. And what are other benefits of going on this diet. Im trying to lose 40 pounds.

Answer: One of the best benifits is protecting your muscle and organs. If you do it wright it will slow down your inslin production and slow down sugar cravings. I would suggest taking a multivitamin to help you get the other nutrition that you might be lacking. It really depends on the company and the quality of of the protein.Hope these links might help.
