Question: What are the facts on soy protein?

Question Description:
Ive seen some web sites that are really putting down soy protein supplements saying that it can be really bad for the body, somehow it doesnt proccess it or something, then I got thinking is it a ploy by meat industry? What do you think?

Answer#1: I think it is all a ploy. The chinese live alot longer than we do and that is about all they eat over there. I drink 2 soy protein shakes every day, which has helped me lose 95 lbs in 8 months. Must be the bad thing about it is that it is low in calories, so you lose weight.

Answer#2: If you go to bodybuildingforyou.com/protein/soy-protein-benefits.htmyou'll find a list of benefits of consuming soy protein

Answer#3: If you are ask a nutritionist..they will tell you that it is not good for you...it can cause breast cancer..but if you ask any other person..and read the ads...they say it is good for you and better then milk...and dairy products from cows..because some cows eat grass that may or may not have pesticides on them and some are given steroids..etc...the way I look at it ....is.....they say everything you eat will give you something..I remember when peanut butter twix candy bars could give you cancer..so far no cancer for me..and I use to eat them....People are going to die sometime..so I don't think it will be the soy that kills you.....but it could....but I will take that chance..I might get hit by a car tomorrow and die...the important thing is....DOES ANYONE REALLY KNOW>>>>>>>?

Answer#4: More than likely, because vegetarians have been eating it for years, even centuries. It's a natural source. Also, many sites for athletes support soy protein over whey protein as supplemental protein due to the manner in which it absorbs in the body, as well as all the other healthy advantages not found in whey.
