Question: I almost never sweat while working out; is this normal?

Question Description:
I go to the YMCA almost daily and workout on the Arc trainer or Precor for 30-60mins. I force myself to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, as well as other drinks. I do need to work on my diet. I am the mom to 3 kids and run a home daycare so I munch more often then not, instead of sitting down to a meal.Is it normal not to sweat? I know dehydration can cause a lack of sweat but I think I'm getting all the fluids I need most days. If I sweat at all its a slight dampness on my back, never anywhere else.If this is unhealthy, what can I do to change it?Thanks! :-)I think I'm going to attibute it to how cold they keep the fitness room at the YMCA! I had goose bumps today! BRRRRR!

Answer#2: Everyone sweats. You may be sweating only a small amount, therefore it is evaporating as it comes out, especially if the room is relatively cool with low humidity. It is also possible that you're not working that hard on the machine. Turn up the difficulty setting and see what happens. It sounds like you're getting enough fluids. The only downside I can think of is that you might be at higher risk for heat exhaustion during hard workouts outside in the summer. Sweat is a way for the body to shed excess heat. I'm not aware of any way to change your sweat rate. If you really want, you can have mine. I lose as much as 2 liters per hour. You would need an umbrella and a life preserver if you were on the machine next to me. On the bright side, I have no problem with hot weather as long as I can get enough water.

Answer#3: Go to a tropical climate and see if u sweat there or not.

Answer#4: sounds normal to me. when i work out, i usually get a little dampness on my wrists and thats about it. dont worry about it, so long as you are drinking enough

Answer#5: Absolutly!Hormons are part of sweating, if you sweat a little is normal, also concider possiblity your msotly toning up if not adding anything or extending your work out. I don't sweat muhc nor wear deorderant, I don't need to either. So yes no worries!

Answer#6: Drink lots of water. Maybe your body cant sweat because of no water. Also, if this has been going on your entire life, maybe it runs in your family. Maybe your not hot enough for your body to release sweat. There are many possiblilities but these are just a few.
