Question: precor equipment: for weightloss shoule my hear rate be in the weight loss or the cardio zone?

Question Description:
I know that sounds like a silly question but when i use the cross trainer my hear rate is normally in the cardio zone and i find it really difficult to keep it in the weight loss zone, it seems to easy to be losing weight? I have been exercising 3-4 times a week for over a month and have not noticed any changes in my weight :( i wondered if it was because my heart rate is always in the cardio zone? I do cardio vascular work as well and using weights and stretches. xxxon the precor machines it measures your heart rate and tells you what zone it is in. Cardio is above weightloss. Ive tried to work out going by my target heart rate but i can never get up to the right heart rate because its so high. ive also read that for weight loss you need to do low intensity so your hear rate is kept relatively low but this is contradicted by my targer rate?? im confussed lol xx

Answer#1: for losing weight you should be at 80% of your max heart rate....which is 220 minus your age (in years) times 80%for example if you are 40yrs old 220 - 40 = 18080% of 180 is 144 beats per minute...

Answer#2: ok by cardio zone do u mean target heart rate ? because thats wat u should aim for, look it up itll tell u wat urs is
