Question: Accuracy of Precor Elliptical Heart Rate Monitor?

Question Description:
How accurate do you think the heart rate monitors are on Precor ellipticals in gyms? I work out on the ones with the sensors on the handle bars and the "ski arms." I want to work out in my target zone, as I think I've been "over doing it" alot. Do you think these sensors are as accurate as a chest-belt version HRM?

Answer#1: I think that the sensors are pretty accurate-you can usually tell if you are working out of your target zone and are overdoing it-you will be breathless.

Answer#2: They both are pretty accurate, we use the handles, as the chest belts would have to be purchased seperately. The handles work fine.
