Question #42: does anyone know if the proform 375e treadmill is a good buy?

Answer: ProForm treadmills in general are very poor quality. The manufacturer, Icon Health and Fitness, have an industry wide reputation for using the cheapest parts, having poor customer service, and having a high breakdown rate. From my experiece as a service tech for over 20 years now, I'd say their breakdown rate is probably 3 in 5 machines and very few of them last more than a year without trouble. Your best bet is to check out another manufacturer in the same price range: Horizon, New Balance, Spirit, HealthTrainer and Endurance are some of the better residential grade brands.-The Treadmill Senseiwww.treadmillsensei.com

Question #44: Thinking about buying a Treadmill?
I'm specifically looking at the ProForm brand I found at Sears. Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them, either positive or negative. I'm mostly looking for something I can fold up and move out of the way when I'm done. I don't really care about all the bells and whistles, and I'd like to spend under $1000.

Answer: For the most part all the people I have known to have a treadmill worked good for a while then it became a clothes rack. Goodluck if you get one. Get a used one first and cheap to see if you are that committed to it before spending a lot of money.

Question #45: Treadmill will not work properly. The lights come on but buttons & belt will not work. Its Proform 540s (Sears)
The lights come on but nothing else will come on. Speed will not come on, belt will not rotate, fan will not come on.

Answer: I have a proform too not a 540 but sometimes it does that. I check all the connections like the connections between the board and the belt and then unplug it and plug it back in and then it works.

Question #46: ProForm, NordicTrack or HealthRider Treadmill?
I am on a budget and need to find a treadmill for less than $1000. Right now I'm trying to decide between the NordicTrack C2200, the ProForm 840, the ProForm 750, and the HealthRider R65. Does anyone have any opinions on these machines? I would love to hear the pros/cons from someone who owns or has used one.

Answer: NordicTrack.
