Question: in bodybuilding terminology, what is meant by (1)MAss Gaining Routine and 2) Muscle Defining Routine?


Question Description:
I am 24 years old, and i am doing Bodybuilding from last 5 months.I need some advice, in many differnet bodybuilding magazines and video DVD's , i see two things. 1) MAss Gaining Routine2) Muscle Defining RoutineKindly tell me that which technique iu can follow according to my age.

Answer#1: 1- Mass Gaining Routine: This means your routine for gaining weight. Mass is equal to the amount of weight that it takes to hold your body on the earth. So, your routine for gaining mass could be your eating habits, or your routine for ridding fat off your body.2- Shaping your muscles. The routine is actually the type of muscles exercises that will mold your muscles in a particular way.


Answer#2: what your referring two is the different kind of CYCLES lifters like to switch from:Bulking cycle: This is where the lifter is just gonna focus on gaining weight and gaining mass. they are going to keep reps low on exercises and weight high to avoid burning too much fat. This is where you will get big and increase your strength.Cutting Cycle: After they have done this for about 6-8 weeks, they begin a cutting cycle. This is where they switch everything around and focus on defining their body and lowering their calorie intake. Exercises are performed high rep lower weight for fat burning and to really bring out the definition. Although overall strength will decrease during this cycle, you will get more defined and get that chiseled look.Lifters switch back and forth between these to get stronger, bigger, and more defined. Also, by keeping the exercises different, their body cant get used to them and keeps your muscles guessing. This allows for more a more anabolic growth from them.Hope this helps, take care.


Answer#3: Your at a great age to follow which ever you desire. Mass Gaining Routines are mostly for body builders. This routine will enlarge the muscle while the Defining will basically give you a nice cut but you will not be large! So if you want to gain size then go with mass, if you want to look good for the ladys and be cut go for the defining!
