Question: help me with my shopping list, Serious Joggers Only ?

Question Description:
im going shopping with my mom in the morning and need a list of foods that will " help me in the long run " literately..all i eat now is junk food, and that really messed up my body. im 5'4 and 116 pounds.. i don’t run to loose weight but that would be a plus. my fear is that i will look like a man if i eat high protein stuff ( muscle builders )can you think of any healthy meals that have helped you run better ?

Answer#1: well, the best foods for distance runners are (i know, you don't want to hear it) protein and carbs. by carbs i don't mean wonder bread and stuff like that. i'm talking whole grains, etc. and about the protein, you would have to eat a LOT of protein to just end up looking randomly many looking lol. just maybe scrambled eggs for breakfast or chicken for dinner is good. but still, nothing tops a lot of water. i drink probably the equivalent of 3.5 of those full poland springs water bottles daily. idk, maybe i'm just an especially huge water drinker. two other things that are particularly important for distance runners (it's like a two-in-one deal =] ) are potassium, which prevents cramping, and vitamin c, which gives you energy. both of these things can be found in many fruits. bananas are loaded with potassium and citrus fruits are loaded with vitamin c, but most fruits have a fair amount of both. they should really help you.

Answer#2: Hello,I'd shop for some high fiber foods (fill you up...less calories), and stay away from the starchy & sugary foods. See the links below to help you with your shopping list. Good luck!- Mike

Answer#3: good stuff:water!!!..its ur friendgatorade...same as above but it tastes betterpasta...especially b4 a racelean meat...protein is good, will not make u look like a mansweet potatoes...good for your blood, esp b4 racebroccolli...i know, gross, but...

Answer#4: Get complex carbohydrates, mostly fruit and vegetables. You will need some protein, and it won't make you look like a man. It is necessary for cell repair. It is also important to prepare the food without frying. Drink lots of water
