Question: Can swimming reduce my fats ?

Question Description:
i'm a student...21....im overweight...i'm interested in modeling...i want to loose my weight atleast 20 kg in 2 months...and i want to be fit and clean looking...i don't want to be muscle builder...please tell me what to eat...if, i jog every morning...and go for swimming and gym 3-4 days per week(together)...what is your expectation?thank youjamy

Answer#1: well to be honest... you are not gone lose 20kg in 2 months. In fact, losing more than 2lb a week can cause serious health problems. Therefore, keep doing what you are doing and eat nothing but protein (meaning chicken, beans, milk and fish) i lost 15lb in 2 month just by doing that and going to the gym 3times a week for an hour... therefore, try to have a realistic dream and what you are doing is just fine :) just stay away from carbs

Answer#2: very much...... swimming is the best excercise to reduce wt / cut down fat.....

Answer#3: Swimming for exerciseSwimming does not significantly reduce weight and it is l poorly understood as a meassure for reducing fat. There are many other be nifits in swimming. Please read -A still-water swimming machine where the swimmer exercises against the pull of a bungee cord.Swimming is a good form of exercise. Because the density of the human body is approximately similar to that of water, the body is supported by the water and less stress is therefore placed on joints and bones. Therefore, swimming is frequently used as an exercise in rehabilitation after injuries or for those with disabilities.Resistance swimming is one form of swimming exercise. It is done either for training purposes, to hold the swimmer in place for stroke analysis, or to enable swimming in a confined space for athletic or therapeutic reasons. Resistance swimming can be done either against a stream of water set in motion by a (usually) self-contained mechanical device (often termed a swimming machine) or by holding the swimmer stationary by means of elastic attachments.Swimming is primarily an aerobic exercise due to the relatively long exercise time, requiring a constant oxygen supply to the muscles, except for short sprints where the muscles work anaerobically. As with most aerobic exercise it is believed to reduce the harmful effects of stress. While aerobic exercises usually burn fat and help with losing weight, this effect is limited in swimming, even though being in cold water burns more food energy to maintain body temperature. The reason that swimming does not significantly reduce weight is still poorly understood, but seems to be related to the better heat conduction of water. A number of reasons are suspected.Water cools the body much faster than air and most researchers believe that subsequently the body aims to maintain a layer of fat under the skin for insulation. It is believed that appetite decreases as the body temperature increases, as for example during exercise. However, during swimming the body is cooled down almost instantly as the surrounding water is usually cooler than the body temperature, and some researchers believe that this may actually increase the appetite. This assumption is not yet proven by research. Fast swimming requires a high level of effort, meaning glycogen rather than fat is burned. Prolonged exercise at lower intensity is better for fat-burning. Some researchers also believe that the metabolism of the body increases at higher body temperature, burning more food energy. Again, during swimming the body is cooled down by the surrounding water, reducing the metabolism, and subsequently the amount of food energy burnt. This assumption is also not yet proven by research. There is also a theory that people with a genetically higher body fat content tend to be more successful as swimmers since the increased buoyancy of the fat aids in floatation or the rounder shapes offer less resistance to the water. Swimming exercises almost all muscles in the body. Usually, the arms and upper body are exercised more than the legs. In competitive swimming, excessive leg muscles can be seen as a disadvantage as they consume more oxygen, which would be needed for the muscles in the arms, although this depends on the swimming style. While breaststroke generates significant movement with the legs, front crawl propels the body mainly with the arms.Sometimes the swimming consists of swimming laps using a conventional stroke, such as the front crawl; other forms can include different forms of exercise performed in the water, such as water aerobics.Swimming may be good for asthma sufferers.Swimming uses all three energy production systems, which are the creatine phosphate system, anaerobic fermentation (also known as Lactic acid buildup system), and the aerobic system. These three systems produce energy in form of ATP to enable muscle use (among other body functions).

Answer#4: yes certainly

Answer#5: you willeat clean , lean , low carb and low fat meals, drink plenty of watercheck at this site for more ideas(you will find a free diet plan)http://setyoureyeson.blogspot.comhttp://about.com/healthhttp://prevention.comhttp://fitnessmagazine.comhttp://bodybuilding.com

Answer#6: this is an experiment showing the effect of swimming on weightIt is possible that one of the consequences of regular physical activity could be a change of vascular metabolism. We studied the effects of regular swimming activity on specific activities of aortic hydrolases of male rats. Enzymes included: neutral alpha-glucosidase and lysosomal beta-galactosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, cathepsin C, acid alpha-glucosidase, and acid cholesteryl esterase. After 8 or 16 weeks of a 1-hour/day swimming protocol, specific activities of four of the six aortic enzymes studied were increased over control levels, increases ranging from 7 to more than 42%. Acid cholesteryl esterase was one of the enzymes most affected by the exercise, increasing 25-30% above control levels. An 8-week sedentary period, after 8 weeks of a swimming regimen, resulted in return of the activity of acid cholesteryl esterase, but not those of the other hydrolases, to control levels. Decreases in body weight, blood pressure, and serum lipid levels also occurred in the swimming rats. Weight reduction per se was excluded as an explanation for the increases in aortic enzymes or decrease in serum cholesterol found with swimming. These findings show that regular physical activity is yet another factor with discrete and significant effects on the catabolic activity of vascular tissue.

Answer#7: why are you wasting thousands of dollars on a college education when you want to do something stupid like modeling?that's a little bit too much exercise to lose weight at a healthy rate. try a mix of cardio, LIGHT strength training, and yoga or some stretching. swimming is good an excellent calorie/fat burner that utlizes all the muscles in your body at once while getting your heart rate up. i'd start out by watching your calories, making sure you're eating balanced meals with plenty of vegetables, lean meats, and whole wheats and swimming laps for 30 minutes four times a week. as you get stronger, you can swim for longer and more days per week, but it's better to go slow, you're more likely to keep weight off going at a slower pace.

Answer#8: Jamy, certainly swimming can help you to reduce your body fat. BUT you need to make changes in your foods. Try a good diet, with veggies, mealt, fish, chicken, etc... Even i'm overweighted too, i tried to lose it some months ago. Please, don't abuse with the water. 1.5 -2 liters (sp.?) a day, and drink it not at once...The walkings (jogging?) is so good too. With a healthy diet and a few exercise, you can lose about 2-3 kg in a week (i lost 6 kg in 3 weeks, in a healthy way)...And if you combine swimming and gym it'll be great! but remember to eat in a healthy way. :)Gilda

Answer#9: hello jamyya i think that if you run and swim, then you would defenatly lose weight.i run almost everyday for around 30 min. to an hour. and i lost weight. and when you swim, try swimming laps as long as you can. you would be using your arms and legs for swimming and loseing weight.

Answer#10: absoulutely swimming will help you

Answer#11: I do not think you will be able to get the desired results within two months. But if you are serious and committed to do it then start the work it may take some more time but you will achieve the results, for it you might have to reduce the intake also by 10-15 percent.

Answer#12: No, but you can reduce the water level in the swimming pool if you jump in

Answer#13: yeah any cardio is gonna burn fat..swimming and running are best and fastest. it will naturally tone you also, so you wont need to life weights if you dont want to bulk up. drink tons of water, like a gallon a day, and eat lean protein like chicken or fish and veggies and NO FRIED FOOD. you need carbs tho for energy, just dont go overboard.
