Question: Will strength training make your muscles stronger AND make them bigger?

Question Description:
I found a site, http://www2.gsu.edu/~wwwfit/strength.html that talks about strengh training and I like it. I know strengh training makes your muscles stronger (duh) BUT does it also make them buff up and get bigger?I want them to beef up and get really big. Is strengh training the right thing for this? Also, how long will it take on average if I work out once a day to get big muscles?

Answer#1: Depends on your body type. If you snack on protein enough, and get extra calories and rest, and drink liquids enough, maybe. I did not snack on protein much.If slim, your body may heat up and burn off excess calories, if you workout too much. In college I doubled my strength one year, and gained no weight. Leg press went from 180 to 360 lbs. Legs stayed about the same. My weight sure did. My body fat may have come down and muscle added. But I was slim and muscluar to start with. That was 35 years ago

Answer#2: From personal experience, doing more reps makes your muscles more cut. Doing higher weight and fewer reps make them bigger. Just don't over do it. I've hert myself too many times trying to add weight. =P
