Question: walking or exercise bike, which is better?

Question Description:
im on a diet and trying to lose weight, about 50 pounds, im 27 5'7 and 220. i know everyone says a brisk walk in the morning jumpstarts your metabolism for the day, so my question is...is riding an exercise bike in the morning as good as going for a walk, i wake up at 430 am so i would rather do the bike thing in my home rather than go outside so early for a walk, but if the walking is much better then i will do that. so im wondering if they are the same or is one better than the other?

Answer#1: Medium-speed walk is good to firm and slim down your thighs. It also help to lose your weight considerably. As it is a whole body's exercise, you also need to move your arms, hands and waist. You could also see around to relax your eyes. I have been doing this for over two months already and have noticed that my thighs are firmer and I have maintained my weight at the standard level. I do this medium-speed walk every alternative day in the evening and last for an hour to make myself sweat a lot. When I started I used to walk everyday. One additional gain from medium-speed walk is, I could release my stress from daily office work. Oh, one important point, never walk by the streets, instead, walk in a park nearby so that you could enjoy the silence & fresh air :) By the way, do feel free to download this ebook, I think it can give you more tips on controlling your weight & diet.Good luck!

Answer#2: I do both at 24Hourfitness... so, I know that I feel my whole body work while on the bicycle, too. When you are sitting down on that small seat, you are balancing your whole body on it with the help of your arms... and when you start pedaling you move your whole body, too. I definitely think that bicycling is just as good. Make sure it isn't less than 20 minutes,... 30 is better... and one hour is phenomenal! You can buy bicycling pants with pads... designed so that you don't give up because of aches and pains down there.

Answer#3: Exercise bikes can be boring. Walking is better because you are out in fresh air and you can go to a different place ever time you decide to take a walk. Walking is also more social!

Answer#4: With an exercise bike you use more muscles, and it's better cardio, and it's much easier to go further.

Answer#5: I think walking really helps you. Yes you could bike but them you'll feel tired the rest of the day. You want to start your exercise smoothly. Trust me I am 13 and I used to weight 107 and going on a healthy choices and those kind of exercises helped me. Since the last 3 months I went down to 96 poundsā™„ Hope I was a help!

Answer#6: From what I heard, walking is better because it puts your whole body into motion.Your arms move with your legs as you walk. You just move your legs when you bike.
