Question: Is the exercise bike enough?

Question Description:
I have an exercise bike, of which I use for 40-45 minutes everyday, then I do press-ups, crunches and muscle exercises. I was wondering if it's enough, as a cardio exercise, to use the bike, or should I do something else? A friend suggested that I buy a treadmill, but I thought it was pretty unnecessary (Besides, my budget is quite limited).Any advices?

Answer#1: No, bike exercise is not enough,i think you must also do treadmill as your friend advice you to do...

Answer#2: No,bike exercise is not enough too...you can go to gym.according to me your friend is right too...it;s also good exercise enough...

Answer#3: I think you're doing fine in cardio exercise using the bike because biking is a very good cardio exercise as it revs up your heart rate and cranks up your metabolism so you lose weight.Biking, if done vigorously, can get you to burn between 600-800 calories per hour. Plus you do press-ups, crunches and muscle exercises, these will burn fat too, though not as much as biking.A treadmill is really not necessary unless your bike has worn out and you want to change to treadmill.....It doesn't mean that you got to do lots of different types of cardio exercises so you've enoguh "cardio" - one good cardio like biking can already give you so much benefit! So stick to your current routine.

Answer#4: I work out on my trainer 45 min daily in addition to running. I have found that the bike is really a good low impact workout for the evenings, look for spinnerval dvds if you want to organize that time or try new workouts on your bike. Good luck

Answer#5: Yes for cardio and the amount of time you are using it...yes it is good for cardio...just make sure you are keeping your heart rate up....also just a suggestion you should stretch...if you dont your muscles will cramp up and they wont form correctly....

Answer#6: run up stairs.

Answer#7: Running is great for Cardioand so is the bikeit should be enough
