Question: Exercise bike riding: should i go longer, harder, faster??

Question Description:
Hello. I am currently riding my exercise bike nearly everynight for 30min, riding almost 15km and burning 300 + calories a night. I will soon be taking up hourly walks 4 nights a week as well. Do you think this is a sufficent amount of exercise to begin a weight loss routine? I am a bit overweight and sometimes find even this a struggle but im doing really well, upping the level on the exercise bike every 3rd day...should i be doing more than just this?? IF I contiue to make my routine harder? (more hills on the walks etc?) Any suggestions??

Answer#1: Try doing some sprints followed by slower pedaling (or walking). You will be surprised by how much more results you get instead of just going long and slow. Do this once or twice a week as a supplement to your longer workouts.
