Question: Home Gym System: weights vs. bowflex type resistance?

Question Description:
I'm about to get a home gym, but have never used a bowflex type system. Bowflex's system looks like it might be kind of an awkward way to work out.

Answer#1: The best exercise machines are free weights. If you don't belive me go into any gym and all of the strongest guys are on free weights. But it would be too hard to have all the weights and different machines you need in your home. I would go with the Bowflex.

Answer#2: I have had bowflex back when the 2nd gen machines were out. The resistance is not very good, but for most people, its more of a work out than they usually get.If you are an active gym kind of guy, you wont be happy with the results ( definition, muscle building, etc. ) if you are an avergae guy who doesn't lift very often, you will see and feel some results right away, then it will decline as you get use to it.My opinion, you would be better to get a pulley and weight type system, Weider offers them, as well as others. Good Luck !
