Question: Treadmill ..manual or motor? also, treadmill or elipctical?

Question Description:
Hi! im looking to buy a treadmill or eliptical, im looking more towards the treadmill. im over wieght and looking to loose about 50 pounds, is the manual treadmill a good choice, its cheaper so im leaning more towards the manual....also...... is it possible to loose 10pounds a month?

Answer#1: Love the treadmill but don't go with the manual ones, yes they are cheaper but do not work as well. I lost 10 pounds per month for three months on the treadmill but I also changed my way of eating. I lost 30 pounds total but I looked like I had lost 50 pounds because of the lost of inches from the heavy treadmill exercising.Don't forget to get one with a warranty because I have yet to have one that the motor has not burned out yet.Best of luck !P.s. Remember, cheaper is not always better ! OH, and don't forget to go to the store with your workout shoes on and try some of the treadmills out.

Answer#2: forget the treadmill, save your money,it becomes very boring looking at the curtain or where ever you are going to put it.walk for 1 hour every day ,all seasons,no excuse, exercise is useless unless you watch what you eat, keep away from take-away.no fat,no sugar.you can loose that weight but it will take time

Answer#3: manual treadmills are not good at all, you would be better off walking around your living room.... if i were you i would def. save up the money and buy an automatic treadmill they work wonders!!!

Answer#4: Sure it's possible to lose 10 but that's a bit much. Treadmills are good exercise. Just be careful with the electric b/c you can get hurt on it! I don't like elipticals.
