Question: Is buying a refurbished treadmill a Good idea? From Horizon or any any other company?

Question Description:
SHOULD I BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE? http://stores.ebay.com/Horizon-Exercise-Equipment-Outlet DO THEY SOUND RELIABLE? THEY SAY THE TREADMILLS ARE REFURBISHED BY AND SOLD DIRECTLY FROM HORIZON.. AND WHICH MODEL SHOULD I BUY ? Im A FEMALE WHO LIKES LIGHT JOGGING AND BRISK WALKING I have read various posts on yahoo and seen that most people advice against any treadmill from icon, i.e .. nordictrack, weslo, proform .. saying they are not sturdy.. people have recommended horizon treadmills. so i found a place where they sell REFURBISHED treadmills by HORIZON at a reasonable price.. Any other suggestions for inexpensive STURDY treadmill models or companies?

Answer#1: I have a sportscraft. I got it from wal-mart an it works great, I dont know how much your planning on paying for it but mine was alittle under 300$ an its big an works great.... Good luck!

Answer#2: Hi there! By all means stay away from Nordic Track, Weslo, Image, Epic, Proform, Healthrider, Reebook, or any other treadmill from the Nordic Track family. They just aren't worth the money...You mentioned Horizon and they are an excellent brand, making some of the best treadmills for the money. However, please remember that eBay exists to sell things the original owner no longer wants. No matter who services the treadmill you're still inheriting someone elses problems. I checked out the site you referenced and noticed that all of the refurbished treadmills were those that sell exclusively through a few major sporting goods chains like Dick's, Sears, The Sporting Authority, etc. These stores sell Horizon branded products, but with their own company specifications which are sometimes inferior to the main and "best quality" line of equipment that Horizon manufactures! For example, Horizon's main line of 2007 models are T71 - T74, 2006 was T61 - T64, 2005 was T51 - T54, and so on. None of those models exist on the refurbished site because the quality is so good on the main line of treadmills that they don't break down. Plus the 2007 models have the best, most recent features available.Your best choice is to look at the brand new "main line" of Horizon treadmills from a reputable online dealer, like A2Z Fit. I recommend those guys all the time because they sell quality treadmills that ship directly from Horizon with full manufacturer warranties that are much better than the refurished warranties. They also have free inside delivery, low prices, extra discounts, price matching, free gifts, and only sales tax for Pennsylvania deliveries. Probably the T71 treadmill (link is below) would suit your needs best... Call or e-mail A2Z with any questions, but just tell them the Fit Guy suggested you to do so. I hope that helps!

Answer#3: Horizon does a good job on their factory seconds/refurbished units. In my experience they tend to be a little more reliable than the new units even because of how thorough their remanufacturing process is. Definitely stay away from the Icon manufactured units (Proform, Weslo, Image, Nordic Track).-The Treadmill Senseihttp://www.treadmillsensei.com
