Questions & Answers about Image Treadmills

Question #1: What causes the spike-like "growth" on tires and does it affect the tire?
I noticed it first on my bike tires when I increased the air pressure to almost the maximum and used it on my roller (a treadmill-like device that lets you ride your bike indoors -->
http://www.bikesomewhere.com/images/big/elite_pa rabolic.jpg )I also noticed it on my car tires after I increased the tire pressure (recommended in hybrid groups to maximize mpg). But I didn't notice it until I drove the car on the freeway. Most of my daily commute is on surface street.Based on the above, my theory is it happens when the the tire heats up. Does the spike grow until it falls off or does it recede back to the tire? Does it have any effect on the tire? Here's a picture of how it looks like -->
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1169/1107702767_e 08404d9c8.jpg?v=0I want to know the science behind it hence the category. Thanks!Although I'm not satisfied with the answers since the car was bought brand new in March and I only noticed the "spikes" this month, I'll give cdf-rom the 10 pts. Also a TU for all the answers. Thanks!

Answer: The spikes in your picture are the points where the rubber was injected into the mould during manufacture.

i am 17 years old, 63kgs and 173cm tall. I have noticed that after i lost weight (i was 75kgs) i still had a big butt and legs. what can i do to reduce the legs and butt? i wouldnt say its much muscle, my legs have some muscle, but my butt is just fat i would say.Below there is a website where you can see images of me, tell me what you think! and you can be honest, cos if u r honest then i can do something about it!i have treadmill and weight bench (dumbbells), as well as a bike.thank you!www.myspace.com/picture4yahoo

Answer: You are in no way fat - this is a very healthy weight. If you want to develop an evenly fit body then do exercises that work your whole body, not ones that target individual parts. Running and swimming are a good combination for this.

Question #5: question with weights?
Hello, i am 17 years old. 63 kilos and 173cm tall. I was quite overweight several months ago, but have lost most of the weight the only thing is that i have remaining fat on my chest, legs and butt. i want to get a cut, sculpt look. not like gym junky's. What would you recommend training wise? i currently train 4 days a week (training is split, one day torse, other arms and legs etc...). I want a way to lose the fat on my chest and turn it into muscle somehow. below is a website where you can look at images of me to get an idea. there are 2 images, have a look at them both and let me know what you think. also i want to tone up my chest because i have small arms, my chest looks big. anything i could do to make chest flatter, toned? even my arms/shoulders. what workout(s) is best to do? i know im only 17 so i cant go crazy cos im not grown full yet.also with cardio. how much should i do? i have treadmill which tells me how much i burn. www.myspace.com/picture4yahoothank you

Answer: Weight lifting doesn't really help muscle definition that much, it's mostly for muscle mass---i.e getting bulkier. Though, doing more 'reps' and less 'sets' with lighter weight will get you leaner and doing more 'sets' and less 'reps' with heavier weight will get you stronger/bigger, I still believe cardiovascular exercises are the best for muscle tone. Just try to keep everything balanced, but at the same time focused in on one task. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Question #7: Has anyone tried Walmart's "Image Advanced 2600 Treadmill"?
It looks well built and a good value. What does everyone think? Any alternative suggestions? The other I was looking at was the Sole F85

Answer: I think Sole has a better name out there than Image...but I'm not basing that on any first-hand experience. Get the one that has the features that you want (for the right price). The things that I wouldn't compromise are: Motor hp, tread width, and warranty. Hope that helps. Check out the link below for some treadmill buying tips. Good luck!- Mike

Question #10: HELP me with my treadmill!!?
I just got a new image 15.5S treadmill. I do not have the instruction manual. How do I get the belt running?

Answer: I'm assuming it's plugged into the wall! There should be a big green start button on the left side of the control panel, that will start the belt. Then you will have to either select a preset program or simply tap the speed up arrow to get moving.
